Advances Across Ophthalmology: A Practical Guide to Geographic Atrophy, Ocular Surface Disease, Glaucoma, and Refractive IOL Surgery

Activity Description

Ophthalmology practice continues to evolve rapidly with evidence-based shifts reshaping clinical decision-making across multiple subspecialties. This supplement addresses four areas of active transformation: the emergence of complement inhibitor therapy and multimodal imaging for geographic atrophy (GA); the role of ocular surface optimization as a prerequisite for successful cataract and refractive surgery outcomes; a paradigm shift toward interventional, procedure-first strategies in early-stage glaucoma management; and a personalized approach to refractive IOL selection that integrates patient lifestyle, ocular biology, and lens technology. Each section of the supplement is authored by subspecialty experts and presents current evidence alongside practical frameworks designed to support immediate application in clinical practice. Together, the four sections of this supplement address the full continuum of patient care, from early detection and diagnosis through treatment selection, surgical planning, and long-term management and emphasize individualized, patient-centered approaches that improve outcomes and quality of life.
