The Art of Custom Refractive Lens Surgery: Matching Lenses to Lifestyles

Activity Description

This course is designed to guide ophthalmologists through the critical steps necessary to achieve superior results in modern refractive intraocular lens (IOL) surgery. We will begin by emphasizing the importance of ocular surface optimization and other preoperative considerations, detailing best practices for identifying and treating surface disease to ensure accurate biometry. The session will then focus on successful patient management, covering effective patient education and expectations management to enhance satisfaction and mitigate post-operative concerns. Finally, faculty will present advanced techniques for customizing refractive IOL surgery and strategies for minimizing residual refractive error and astigmatism, including advanced formula selection, intraoperative adjustments, and astigmatic management pearls. Participants will be provided with strategies to refine their surgical planning and patient counseling processes.
