The Interventional Era of Early-Stage Glaucoma Management: Confidently Integrating Modern Therapies Into Clinical Practice

Activity Description

This course moves beyond intraocular pressure (IOP) to explore a patient-centric, proactive approach to glaucoma management. Faculty will focus on strategies for early glaucoma detection and treatment, integrating novel diagnostic tools with clinical findings to identify disease progression before vision loss occurs. The session will highlight the role of early procedural intervention, detailing the efficacy and patient selection for modern options such as Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) and sustained-release drug delivery systems. A significant portion of the course will be dedicated to MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery), covering current techniques, appropriate surgical settings, and patient outcomes. Finally, we will synthesize these elements to discuss the principles of personalized glaucoma care, equipping attendees with a framework to tailor detection and treatment plans to the individual patient's risk profile and quality of life goals.
